EXCERPT (c) A REGGAE EDUCATION. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED GLOBALLY. RAS CARDO REGGAE. THE TRENCH- TOWN CONTINGENCY OF STUDENTS ATTENDING HIGH SCHOOLS ALL OVER THE ISLAND AT MY TIME THERE.

WRITTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE, AND WITH TRUTH. NO APOLOGIES.

ST.G.C AND TRENCH TOWN REGGAE- AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM.- THE TRUE HISTORY.- RAS CARDO .

REGGAE HISTORY FROM RAS CARDO: NEW BOOK, OLD STORY. THE UNSUNG PEOPLE MUST BE KNOWN, AND RECOGNIZED WITH DIGNITY.

NOT AVAILABLE IN STORES.

CAVEAT: FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO SWEEP THE TRUTHS UNDER THE RUG AS TO OUR REGGAE HISTORY, AND THE INVOLVEMENT OF THE PEOPLE WHO WERE A PART OF THE TRENCH TOWN COMMUNITY, I WILL SAY TO THEM- THE TRUTH WILL SWIM LIKE OIL.

MY BELOVED MOTHER AND FATHER MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US CHILDREN IN THE POVERTY OF TRENCH TOWN TO HAVE A GOOD EDUCATION.

I CREATED REGGAE TO DO ALL THAT AND MORE FOR THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE, ALL PEOPLE.

I AM NOT HERE FOR THE SELECTIVE EXCLUSION OF THOSE WHO MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR OTHERS TO LIVE FROM DAY TO DAY, AND WHO, UNDER THE MOST TRYING OF CIRCUMSTANCES PERSEVERED TO THE VERY END.

LIKE SO MANY TRENCH TOWN YOUTHS, THE SOCIAL CLIMATE IN JAMAICA AT THE TIME, AND THE POWERS THAT BE, WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT NO GOOD WOULD COME OUT OF TRENCH TOWN.

WE WERE DETERMINED TO PROVE THE POWERS THAT BE WRONG- AND YES, WE DID.

MY TRENCH TOWN REGGAE HAS SHOWN THE WORLD THIS TRUTH.

DO NOT FORGET THE VIOLENCE AND OSTRACISM THAT WAS ALWAYS HANGING OVER US.

TAKE A LOOK AT TRENCH TOWN AND ITS YOUTHS TODAY- THE STRUGGLES CONTINUES. THE TRENCH TOWN HIGH SCHOOL STRUGGLES TO CARRY ON.

WHAT IS THE MINISTRY/MINISTER OF EDUCATION DOING TO HELP, IF ANYTHING!

TRENCH TOWN HAD STUDENTS ATTENDING- ALPHA ACADEMY, ARDENNE HIGH, ST ANDREW TECH, KINGSTON TECH, MICO, CAST, UWI, WOLMERS, IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, MERLE GROVE , AND A HOST OF OTHERS.

WE HAVE ALL- REFUSED TO BE WHAT THE SYSTEM WANTED US TO BE.

I WOULD HOPE THAT THE -ST.G.C OF TODAY, WOULD SEE IT FIT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRUTH AND THE FACTS OF THE HISTORY AND MARK WHICH YOUTHS FROM THE GHETTOES OF KINGSTON HAVE MADE THERE IN SECURING AN EDUCATION.

LET ME MAKE THIS EXPLICITLY CLEAR TO ALL THE WORLD : THE JESUITS AND TEACHERS WHO WERE THERE AT THE TIME, MADE SURE THAT THEY SHOWED US MUCH LOVE . THIS, I WILL NEVER FORGET.

I HAVE TOLD THE WORLD MANY OF THESE TRUTHS, AND I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS BEEN DOING SO FOR ALL THESE YEARS. NO PROBLEM, BECAUSE I HAVE THE DETAILED HISTORY.

WELL, THERE ARE MANY YOUTHS FROM TRENCH TOWN, AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS OF WEST KINGSTON, WHO WERE ABLE TO ATTEND HIGH SCHOOLS.

I WILL JUST GIVE YOU BRIEFLY SOME NAMES OF THOSE WHO ATTENDED THE PRESTIGIOUS HIGH SCHOOL SCHOOL AT THE TIME, KNOWN AS- ST. GEORGES COLLEGE- ON NORTH STREET. THE SAME SCHOOL AND SAME STREET ON WHICH KINGSTON COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL IS LOCATED.

IN 1962 I TOOK TRENCH TOWN REGGAE TO ST.G.C( ST. GEORGES COLLEGE). I SHARED IT WITH MY CLASS MATE- GEOFFREY CHUNG, AND OTHERS ATTENDING THERE.

LEGHORN COGHILE, WHOM I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT FOR YEARS, AND WHO WROTE THE SONG FOR BOB MARLEY- THEM BELLY FULL- WAS ALSO A STUDENT THERE AT THE TIME. WE LIVED ON THE SAME STREET. HE WAS THE FIRST PUBLICIST AND FOOT SOLDIER FOR BOB MARLEY. THERE WAS NO OTHER AT THE TIME.

GEOFFREY CHUNG BECAME THE FIRST EVER- ASIAN- JAMAICAN REGGAE ENGINEER AND ARTIST ON THE PLANET. HIS BROTHER- MICHAEL CHUNG – NOW ICONIC, HAS PLAYED REGGAE MUSIC WITH SEVERAL OF MY TRENCH TOWN ICONIC BRETHRENS- THE LIKES OF PETER TOSH AND OTHERS.

REGGAE KEYBOARDIST, AND LEGEND- ROBBIE LYNN ALSO CARRIES ON THIS CONNECTION TRADITION.

MY TRENCH TOWN BRETHRENS WERE VERY HAPPY TO HAVE THEM BOTH ACCOMPANY THEM ON THEIR TOURS. YOU SAW THIS HERE FIRST.

GEOFFREY PASSED AWAY IN 1995, AND WOULD HAVE MADE REGGAE MUSIC IN WAYS WE HAD DISCUSSED. SEVERAL REGGAE ARTISTS OF TODAY MUST GIVE THANKS AND CREDITS TO THE WORKS THAT GEOFFREY HAS DONE FOR THEIR MUSIC. HIS BROTHER, MICHAEL CONTINUES HIS LEGACY.

I AM MOST PLEASED TO SEE THE WORKS THAT THESE BRETHRENS HAVE DONE SINCE THE DAYS OF ST.G.C, TO MAKE REGGAE THE NAME AND MUSIC OF WHICH JAMAICA IS DEFINED AND RECOGNIZED, THE WORLD OVER.

MUCH RESPECT TO MICHAEL AND ROBBIE- ICONIC REGGAE LEGENDS FROM ST.G.C.

IN MY 1993- BOOK- A REGGAE EDUCATION- PAGE #59, SECTION- # 36- I MENTIONED THE NAMES OF SOME OF THOSE OF US WHO ATTENDED THE SCHOOL FROM TRENCH TOWN.

THIS NEW BOOK GOES INTO MORE DETAILS WITH THE HISTORY, TRUTHS, AND FACTS. IT IS THE FIRST BOOK -EVER- MADE PUBLIC BY RAS CARDO ON THIS SUBJECT OF TRUTH AS TO THE TRENCH TOWN ST.G.C REGGAE CONNECTION. IT COMES UNDER HIS COPYRIGHTS.
