(c) EXCERPT FROM RAS CARDO- PLAN FOR UPLIFTING THE HEALTH CARE OF THE JAMAICAN PEOPLE.
WRITTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE:
CAVEAT: THE PLANS AND DIRECTIVES EXPRESSED HERE ARE UNDER THE EXCLUSIVE COPYRIGHTS OF RAS CARDO.
It is my hope and prayer that it becomes most urgent that the government of Jamaica, the Ministry of health, and all others who care for the betterment of the Jamaican people makes it happen for the effective delivery of health for all concerned.
My vision and plans are expressed in this condensed presentation here written.
It entails, setting up a system of interconnected rural hospitals/ clinics/ health satellite clinics, in the most rural parts of the island which will become the backbone, and lifeline of Jamaica’s health care delivery system.
AT PRESENT- THERE IS NO SUCH SYSTEM WHICH EXISTS ON THE ISLAND.
TELEMEDICINE AND THE INTERNET- now makes it possible for this plan to be implemented.
There is lots of money flowing in and out of Jamaica from Tourism and other areas which could be used to enhance and enrich the lives and health of the people.
For over the years I have been in the delivery end of healthcare for the people in several countries, including Jamaica which has given me the expertise needed to help effect such a change. I know that this is the time to do it for the people.
The violence of Kingston has not only driven lots of people away from the island, but has driven lots of the people from Kingston and the surrounding areas to the most rural parts of the island.
THOSE WHO STILL WISH TO VISIT JAMAICA AS TOURIST SHOULD CONSIDER THIS IN THEIR PLANS FOR A SAFER/HEALTHIER TIME SPENT THERE.
Jamaicans, who have been driven from the city by fear and violence and have taken residence in these rural areas would welcome such a plan. All of the tourism on the island takes place rurally, and around the coast.
These displaced individuals have set up communities in several areas of the country.
Anyone who have tried to deliver healthcare to people in rural areas knows the unique issues they have to face, not just to themselves, but to those they are trying to serve.
I know what it takes , and the challenges which must be addressed when getting and sustaining healthcare to those living in rural settings.
Now- is the time for Jamaica to do what is right and just for the health of its people.
I am a servant leader of the people, and have dedicated my life to helping others.
I am here to bring the – COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS- principle that I used in Trench Town which were the cornerstones to the reality that- REGGAE AND THE MUSIC IS TODAY.
i know, that by using this same vision and approach to the retrofitting of the infrastructure of the Jamaican healthcare system, we can successfully accomplish what is vitally necessary to helping the people.
In the further sharing of my plan. I will also say that i will develop several community outreach programs with volunteers and other professionals, to educate, the residents of each and every community as we promote healthier life styles while addressing the needs throughout the service areas of the regions.
I WILL ENCOURAGE AND DEVELOP- A CULTURE OF SAFETY- AND BELONGING- MAKING THE PEOPLE FEEL AND KNOW THAT THEY ARE LOVED AND TRULY CARED FOR.
These are just some of my brief plans for helping Jamaica, and hoping that there are others who will join me in so doing.
Those willing to do so can reach me at several blogs and at this site. This is one way to heal Jamaica from the killings and violence for which it is still remembered all over the world, and in the poverty that still is trench town. (c) Ras cardo speaks. All rights reserved globally.
