(c)Excerpt from- TIME TO RETHINK THE CONSEQUENCES OF SLAVERY- RAS CARDO REGGAE SPEAKS- EBOLAISED AFRICA. THE FEAR AND TREMBLINGS OF THE WORLD.
WRITTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE ENSLAVEMENT OF AFRICAN PEOPLES HAS IT NOT CONSIDERED AN OPTION TO FORCIBLY TEAR AFRICAN PEOPLES FROM THEIR HOMELAND TO THE ENSLAVEMENT OF THE REST OF THE WORLD.
“THEY CANNOT COME, AND WE CANNOT GO”.
This is the message African peoples at home and abroad are pondering at this time.
Although our peoples have been exiled in foreign lands for ages past, this most recent event has brought new light and meaning as to the interdependence of this human race.
WE SHOULD HAVE LEARNT THAT WHAT AFFECTS ONE WILL EVENTUALLY AFFECT ALL.
BUT THOUGH WE HAVE EYES, WE SEE NOT, AND EARS, WE HEAR NOT.
WE HAVE NOT THE WISDOM AND VISION TO SEE THE WORKS OF GOD IN HIS CREATION.
THE SAD TRUTH IN ALL THIS IS- THERE WAS AND IS REALLY NOTHING WRONG WITH AFRICA.
WHATEVER BECOMES WRONG WITH AFRICA IS FROM THE DOINGS OF MEN.
AFRICA HAS BECOME THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER, THE VICTIM OF RAPE, ENSLAVEMENT, AND GENOCIDE FOR AGES.
I hope that all those historians who have written volumes about the enslavement of African peoples and the sufferings and horrors which continues to this day- TAKE NOTE!
EBOLA- and other deadly diseases which now threatens the rest of the world is forcing some slavers to rethink- Africa.
I must wonder what would have been the outcome of slavery had this disease presented itself in those times. My guess is- slavery would never have been so successful.
People in the African diaspora and all African peoples need to take careful note of what is happening as a result of this consequence.
History has shown us what happens when we fail to follow divine providence.
The history of Africa has shown us a continent from which the very earliest forms of life spings. A continent rich in all the natural resources. A continent of peoples who through the ages have suffered and died because of famines, wars, rape and malignant neglect.
A CONTINENT DIVIDED UP BY THE COLONIAL POWERS OF BRITAIN, FRANCE, GERMANY AND OTHERS.
Now, in 2014 we are faced with the- EBOLA FROM WEST AFRICA. This region of Africa comprises seventeen countries, from the smallest- GAMBIA to the largest- NIGERIA.
My Trench Town reggae has been there, and have seen poverty and destruction beyond compare. Most of the people struggle to make a living in a land where oil, cocoa, gold, diamond, cotton, Uranium, phosphate, and a lot of precious metals are abundant.
The poor people work the fields, but have no access to the rewards of what results from the sales and revenues. Sierra Leones brutal civil war was all about the control of its diamonds.
Reggae and Rastafari music has spoken openly about all these ills of Africa for decades past.
From my earliest days of youth in Trench town we knew about the problems in Africa. The reason too for my reggae creation.
FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW THIS TRUTH- MOST OF THE ANCESTRAL DESCENDANTS IN JAMAICA ARE FROM WEST AFRICA.
To understand West Africa and its complexity one has to fully understand its past history, for in the richness that exists, the living standards of the people have fallen.
SO, WE MUST ASK THE QUESTION, OF WHICH WE ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER- HOW IS IT THAT IN SO MUCH RICHNESS, THERE IS SO MUCH POVERTY?
My late great reggae brethren- Culture- Joseph Hill sang- “If you dont bring the richness to them, then they will bring the poverty to you”.
Reggae messengers have been singing Africa for a very long time. One of my closest brethrens, the late great- Peter Tosh sang- ” never gonna give it up”. Black Uhuru sings- ” Third world nations sinking deeper in debt, trade all my gold and diamonds for blood tears and sweat”.
Yes, The reggae messengers and Rastafari sings Africa.
MY TRENCH TOWN REGGAE SPEAKS TO THE SUFFERINGS OF THE PEOPLE GLOBALLY.
IT SHOULD NOW BE CLEAR TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE RAPED AND ABANDONED AFRICA OVER THE YEARS, THAT THIS WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA. FOR NOW, THE HANDS OF JAHFRICA HAS REACHED BACK TO THOSE WHO HAVE ORCHESTRATED ITS DOWNPRESSION.
So as this disease takes its toll, the rest of the world seems out of control, may Jah almighty bless our soul for soon the deliverance of his people will and must unfold.
LET US PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE IN AFRICA AND THE WORLD.
REGGAE AND RASTAFARI HAS SPOKEN THE LANGUAGE OF AFRICA- “IN MY RICHNESS I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF YOU- NOW I WILL SEE WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF ME- FOR I HAVE BEEN LEFT IN POVERTY FOR SO LONG, I HAVE PUT MY MESSAGE IN RAS CARDOS REGGAE SONGS.”- (c) Ras cardo reggae speaks. All rights reserved globally.
